On the eve of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in our section “People of Labor” we talk about agricultural workers - participants of the Great Patriotic War. One of them is Gabdulla Mukhametshinovich Mukhametshin, who has worked in the agricultural industry for 35 years.

He was born on March 15, 1925 in the village of Lashmanka of the Cheremshansky region in a large family. He began working from the age of 13 on a collective farm. First he harnessed the horses, fed the cattle, later worked as a plowman.

In 1941, when the war began, he only graduated from grade 7. On the first day of the war, two of his older brothers went to the front, a year later his father did the same.

And on January 7, 1943, Gabdulla Mukhametshin went to the war.

“We were 17 years old. We rode a horse. It was 40 degrees below zero. But all the village left. Everyone cried, ”the veteran recalls.

The mortar gunner Gabdulla Mukhametshin as part of the 84th Guards Rifle Division, 247th Rifle Regiment participated in the liberation of the Oryol, Bryansk and Smolensk regions.

“In the battle for the city of Vitebsk in Belarus, Ie was captured. For 1 year and 4 months I experienced all the horrors of a fascist concentration camp. I was barely alive. They beat me constantly. Soviet troops liberated us in May 1945. And with the words “protect yourself as you can,” they immediately gave weapons, ”says Gabdulla Mukhametshin.

But Gabdulla returned to his native land only in 1950 as an officer. He served in the army for another five years.

The veteran of war and labor Gabdulla Mukhametshin for many years worked as a mechanic at Selkhoztehnika. Over 35 years of work, he showed himself as a skilled worker, a master of his craft, a sensitive and demanding specialist.

Mukhametshin Gabdulla Mukhametshinovich is a well-deserved authority among the population of the region. He is now 95 years old. He is still reciting namaz. He never drank or smoked in his life. He is a worthy example for the younger generation.
