The meeting on the regulation of prices for food products and medicines was held today by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. The event was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov.

In connection with the sanitary-epidemiological situation, the meeting was held in the mode of video conferencing with all municipal regions of the republic.

According to Rustam Minnikhanov, the situation in the republic with the availability of products, medicines and prices is under constant control. To this end, a price monitoring working group under the leadership of the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Nigmatullin, has been set up and a hotline has been operating to let citizens pose questions and complaints.

The President of Tatarstan emphasized: “Our region is self-sufficient in basic food products. Today, the issue of agricultural products remains particularly relevant. Before the new harvest, the necessary grain reserves should be kept at the elevators, and livestock products - meat and milk - should remain accessible to the population. This is the responsibility of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan, ”Rustam Minnikhanov said.

Marat Zyabbarov reported that in the retail chains the agricultural products of the republic are represented by the main types in a rather wide assortment and occupy a significant share in the total volume: social breads - 94-97%, milk, dairy products - 40-75%, sausages - 30%, sugar - 35%, cucumbers - 27%. The republic also has one of the most affordable prices for basic food products among the regions of the Volga Federal District.

Due to the decrease in sales through the trading networks of agricultural organizations, they are mastering new ways of selling their products by means of Internet resources and delivering them directly to customers. So, this type of trade is already used by Zalesny Agrofirm, Central Cooperative, Maisky Greenhouse Combine, KFH Beloglazova E.E. and other organizations and peasant farms. According to preliminary estimates, sales of products over the Internet over the past month have tripled. “Here we see great prospects for ourselves, we plan to continue working in this direction and assist our agricultural producers in developing online trade,” the head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan explained.

The Deputy Prime Minister also told about the system of consumer cooperation of the republic, which, in order to provide high-demand goods, involved all workshops for the production of the most popular food products: social bread, bakery and pasta. Tatpotrebsoyuz pays a special attention to the mobile format of trade, which is tasked to cover all settlements where there is no stationary shopping facilities. At the same time, the delivery of goods was also organized by order of the villagers. Off-site trade is carried out by 106 grocery stores. Revenue from one shop per day increased by 42%, amounting to 17 thousand rubles.

In 2020, it is planned to purchase 14 car shops for a total of 20 million rubles. The total retail turnover in the system amounted to 1 billion rubles, or 103% compared to last year.

“The health of our citizens and their trust in the authorities depend on how well we work out on providing the population with food and medicine during the pandemic,” said Rustam Minnikhanov. He instructed the heads of districts, all participants of the meeting to keep these issues under constant review.
