How to protect the crop from the weather changes

Agricultural enterprises of the republic started spring field work. But they do not forget: Tatarstan is a zone of risky agriculture.

The agricultural enterprise "Orsis-Agro" is the leading and largest agricultural formation in the Nizhnekamsk region. The positive dynamics in the development of dairy farming is especially noticeable in society: from 1850 feed cows on farm farms, these days they receive 48 tons of milk - 17% more than in the corresponding period last year.

The company is implementing a large investment program. For 2 years, it bought several tractors of domestic production, two of them - 500-horsepower, as well as sprayers, forage harvesting equipment. This year they made agreements with Rosagroleasing; 4 combine harvesters are expected to arrive.

“Such large investments in the purchase of equipment are necessary in order to carry out all field work in the optimal time and with high quality,” says Artem Glazun, financial director of Orsis-Agro LLC. - Only with this approach can we achieve high yields and strengthen the forage base of livestock.

This year, farmers of agricultural enterprises are determined to grow a good harvest. They are buying good seeds of spring crops, work part-time, they have allocated mineral fertilizers at the rate of 100 kg of active substance per hectare of crops. Feeding is already underway “on the shard” of winter and perennial grasses.

Nevertheless, peasant forethought in working in the open air never bothers. 12 thousand hectares of crops matters. In society, they did not rely on “maybe”: all winter crops were insured, these are 3.2 thousand hectares, now insurance contracts are signed for 1.5 thousand hectares of barley, 1.9 thousand hectares of rape and 1 thousand hectares corn.

The crop insurance costs 10% of the insurance amount. Insured events are prescribed in contracts: this is the death of crops due to natural disasters such as drought, freezing, aging, soaking, sandstorms, etc. Natural phenomena are confirmed by meteorologists, and the facts of the death of the crop - by special commissions.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan reminds agricultural producers that compensation for damage, even in case of emergency, will be subject to crop insurance. Farmers need to take care of this in advance, given that up to 90% of insurance costs are subsidized by the budget.
