Czech-Tatarstan Business Forum was held in Kazan

Today, the Czech-Tatarstan business forum was held in Kazan with the participation of 20 companies of the Czech Republic and about 50 Tatarstan enterprises focused on the agro-industrial complex.

The event was attended by the Minister of Agriculture of the Czech Republic Miroslav Toman, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Russian Federation Vitezslav Pivonka, Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the CIS Countries Frantisek Masopust, Chairman Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan Shamil Ageev and others.

“Cooperation in agriculture is a key factor. Mainly crops are grown in our country. Livestock is developed. One third of the Czech Republic is occupied by forests; therefore, hunting for wild animals is also developed. Agriculture and the food industry are famous for exporting bread, malt, hops, brewing and dairy products, as well as livestock and agricultural machinery. We are ready to offer Tatarstan cooperation in these areas, ”said Miroslav Toman, noting that a wide range of companies was represented at the forum. The Czech Minister of Agriculture expressed the hope that many of visitors will be able to find business partners at the forum.

Presenting Tatarstan, Marat Zyabbarov noted that today the republic is an advanced and economically successful region that has consistently supported the course towards building a strong and independent Russia.

“In Tatarstan, an effective balance of various levels and branches of power has developed. The coordinated work of the Government, Parliament, and local self-government bodies under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov is one of the foundations of the stability of socio-political processes, ”added the Deputy Prime Minister.

The Head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan noted that in agriculture the volume of production amounted to 250.8 billion rubles, or 103% to the level of 2018. “We fully provide the needs of population of the republic with food at the most affordable prices,” the Deputy Prime Minister noted.

Marat Zyabbarov also noted that Russian producers are ready to increase the supply of grain, oil and fat products, confectionery, as well as finished food products to the Czech market. The Minister drew attention to the importance of building relationships, relying not only on mutual trade, but more on the creation of joint ventures. For now, Russia has provided comfortable conditions for the work of foreign companies in the agricultural sector  and the necessary state support.

Several projects are already being implemented in the country together with Czech companies. These include the Russian-Czech breeding enterprise for the improvement of the Holstein cattle breed in the Samara region and the production of meat products in the Vladimir region. Tatarstan is interested in further attracting new companies from the Czech Republic to cooperate.

“We want to work together in seed production, which is actively developing in our country. Now, 52 varieties and a hybrid of crops of Czech selection are included in the Russian State Register of selection achievements approved for use. Russian farmers appreciate their quality and productivity. I hope that these negotiations will be held at a high professional level and will give an additional impetus to mutually beneficial cooperation between our republics, ”said the Minister of Agriculture of Tatarstan.

After the official part of the event, the Minister of Agriculture of the Czech Republic Miroslav Toman, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov answered questions from media representatives, and representatives of business switched to B2B negotiations.
