18 December 2019, Wednesday

On December 17, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov held a round table on the export of agricultural products of Tatarstan. The round table was attended by the Director of the Russian Grain Union Development Department Sergey Turnin, authorized representative of the Russian Grain Union in the Republic of Tatarstan Vadim Bespalov, General Director of JSC "RACIN" Denis Samodurov, representatives of Russian Railways, German Seed Alliance, IC Bionovatik and other companies interested in exporting grain.

Opening the event, Marat Zyabbarov informed that by the Federal project “Export of agricultural products”, the republic was tasked with increasing by 2 times the export of agricultural products. “This year we delivered grain to Azerbaijan, Israel, Latvia, Germany, Iran, but we need to expand our sales markets and export volumes. The Republic of Tatarstan, on average, produces about 4-5 million tons of grain per year. Based on our own needs of the republic, we can freely sell from 500 thousand tons to 1 million tons of grain, ”the head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan noted.

Sergey Turnin thanked the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan for its support, told about the results of the Union’s work and introduced the head of the representative office of the Russian Grain Union in the Republic of Tatarstan Vadim Bespalov. He, in turn, informed the participants of the round table about high transport costs for export for all regions except the South and the Center of Russia, drawing attention to the priority of water infrastructure for exports from Tatarstan.

Director of the Department of External Relations of the Russian Grain Union Oleg Malofeev shared his experience in exporting grain. “We must understand that different countries have their own grain quality requirements that differ from Russians. In addition, the main issue is the issue of financing. For example, Cuba is ready to purchase grain in large volumes, but with payment within 360 days. This is not acceptable for any agricultural producer.

Representatives of Russian Railways Vyacheslav Nesterenko and Sergey Lilik spoke about the possibilities of processing grain cargo at the freight yards of the Kuibyshev and Gorky directorates for managing the terminal-warehouse complex.

Representatives of the German seed alliance, Mikhail Buneev and Sergey Tuchin, spoke about varieties of rapeseed specially developed for Russia and new hybrids that were admitted to the State Register in 2018-2019. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of IC “Bionovatik” Rustam Ramazanov spoke about plant protection products and mineral fertilizers allowed for use in organic farming.

The General Director of JSC “RACIN” Denis Samodurov expressed his readiness to cooperate with all organizations interested in export, focusing attention that he can provide both consulting support and act as an aggregator of export contracts.

At the end of the event, Marat Zyabbarov thanked the participants of the round table for useful information and constructive dialogue. Then the parties went on to exchange contacts and individual negotiations.
