On November 13, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture Dzhambulat Khatuov held a conference call with the heads of regional agro-industrial complex management bodies on the acquisition of mineral fertilizers by agricultural producers and increasing their use for 2020–2025.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov took part in the meeting.
The First Deputy Minister emphasized that at the initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, additional preferences are being developed to support farmers in order to increase the use of fertilizers for improving soil fertility and, as a consequence, the intensification of agriculture. Only the systematic application of fertilizers, primarily mineral fertilizers, allows to increase the gross yield of agricultural crops and increase soil productivity.
The leaders of the regional agro-industrial complex presented information on the use of fertilizers in the current year and plans to increase their use for 2020-2025. Thus, according to the information of the regions, from January 1 to November 11, 2019, farmers purchased 3.3 million tons of mineral fertilizers, which is 400 thousand tons more than in the same period in 2018. The accumulated resources amount to 3.5 million tons of active ingredients.
During the meeting, it was noted that Tatarstan has implemented the plan for mineral fertilizers for the current year by 107.2%. In the republic, 173.1 thousand tons of AI were acquired and accumulated. This is the largest number in the Volga Federal District.
Earlier a seminar on the development of mechanisms for exchange trading in mineral fertilizers was held at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Technologies of the Republic of Tatarstan. Tatarstan agricultural producers were told about the possibilities of profitable acquisition of fertilizers through the rialto.
