Today, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov got acquainted with the activities of Kazan State Agrarian University. The Minister was accompanied by the rector of the university Ayrat Valiev.
During the visit, Marat Zyabbarov examined the classrooms and the museum located in the main building of the university and held a meeting with the leadership and scientists of the university. Ayrat Valiev told about the activities of the university: “The training of qualified personnel for the agricultural sector is carried out at 2 faculties and 2 institutes. Today, more than 5,000 students are studying at 20 departments, about 3% of them are foreign students. ”
The rector of the university also spoke about priorities in personnel training, updating educational programs, research projects implemented on a grant basis and employing graduates. Speaking about the long-term plans, Ayrat Valiev presented the project for the construction of the Agrobiotechnopark, an infrastructure solution for students' practical classes, which will include a training and laboratory complex, granaries (warehouses), greenhouses, a machine and tractor park, etc. The rector also noted the need to build a hostel at the Agrarian University for 620 places.
Nail Khamidullin, Vice-Rector for Infrastructure Development and Production, spoke about students' targeted training programs. He also mentioned that since 2019, the university has been implementing a pilot project in the Baltasinsky district to create vocational guidance agricultural classes in schools.
The head of the district Ramil Mullin told about the project of a modern training center - the Academy of Agriculture, jointly with the August company in the Muslyumovsky District.
The head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan supported the idea and suggested studying the project in detail. “Educational activity should keep up with the times and see the future 10 years ahead,” the minister said.
Following the results of the round table, it was decided to include Marat Zyabbarov in the University Board of Trustees.
