Farmers from Buinsky district started harvesting berries
The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan pays great attention to the development of small and medium enterprises in rural areas. Today, in every district there are people who have opened their own business in the countryside with the support of the Ministry. One of them is the Davletshin family from Buinsky district.
Farmers Milyausha and Zamil Davletshins from the village of Bik-Uteevo have been proving for the second year in a row that berry taste is inherent not only in summer, but also in autumn. Last year in September they were surprised by raspberries. This year there are strawberries as well.
In 2018, they received a grant from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan in the amount of 1.5 million rubles for the cultivation of fruit and berry crops on an area of 3.3 hectares.
“In summer, berries do not surprise anyone. Specially selected late repair varieties. On one hectare there are 40 thousands bushes. Harvest just started. We think it will be no less than 5-6 tons, ”Zamil says.
A plot of garden strawberries begins immediately outside the village. Behind snow-white flowers on a black film of green foliage is almost invisible. And from below you find large juicy red berries. Furrows with a width of 80-90 centimeters and a height of 15-20 centimeters are covered with a special film. Placed in a checkerboard pattern, water, the necessary nutrients get drip. Under the film there are pipes through which water flows from an artificial lake.
“To get a rich and massive crop, the first flowers were plucked. They stopped doing this only after they began to move together. We remove the antennae regularly, - the farmer shares his experience. - And for the winter it will be necessary to cover it with nonwoven fabric. In the meantime, all efforts are directed to the harvest. For both types of berries, the suffering will continue until the first cold weather. And raspberries are already juicy and delicious. ”
“This year, due to frequent rains, the harvest is late compared to last year. There are a lot of berries. If only we had time to mature, ”says the eldest daughter Lilia, who came to help her parents. And Lenar's son-in-law spends his vacation in the garden. Today there is a demand for both species. Davletshins are planning to increase the area to 5 hectares in the future in order to cooperate with large retail chains, and they want to “bring one hectare under the tunnel”.
“In order to withstand competition, we have to consider everything to the smallest detail. If due to rains and cold you could not pick berries in time, another person will take your place. And when the site is covered, the rains and the wind are not terrible, ”says Zamil. Also, farmers plan to increase the apple orchard to 15-20 hectares. Seedlings are already grown in the nursery. In order to plant them in the fall, you need another artificial lake. All documentation is ready, builders who have won the tender are waiting. And the planting site of apple trees was several times treated against weeds. They also want to try to grow 5 varieties of raspberries and choose the one that suits our climate. They plan for the future and the construction of a processing plant.
