In the Alkeevsky elevator, 100 tons of grain are dried and sent to storage every hour

The fate of this year's harvest is decided not only by combine harvesters in the fields, but also by the workers of elevators. After rainy days, the threshed grain comes wet. To lay it in storage, it is necessary to dry it up to 13% humidity.

This year, the Bazarno-Mataksky elevator marks the anniversary date - 15 years from the day of the first bread, but this is not a reason for idleness, on the contrary - the work here is literally in full swing. The enterprise provides storage of up to 100 thousand tons of grain. Four drying units are operating simultaneously. One after another from the fields to the elevator ride loaded with bread machines. Specialists try to unload faster and send them back.

Upon entering the elevator and at the exit, the grain undergoes a laboratory study. The laboratory is called the "heart" of the elevator. More than 100 cars loaded with grain pass through it daily, many of them with a trailer. Laboratory workers take samples from each cart for analysis and determine the weed, moisture and coolness of the grain.

From the day the elevator was opened, the laboratory has been led by Gulzigan Sadykova. Her whole life, one way or another, is connected with bread. By profession a bakery technologist, Gulzigan Sadykova worked for many years in the Salman bakery.

“Every year we introduce new equipment, we have to work with new varieties. Therefore, every year the leadership conducts studies, organizes courses and seminars aimed at improving our knowledge, improving skills”, say experienced specialists.

Ramziya Shigapova, Ruzia Khismatova have been working here for many years as technologists. Laboratory workers keep quality preservation of grain under strict control. Another technologist works to select grain for seeds. This responsible duty is performed by Guzel Basharova.

These days, wheat and barley are coming to the elevator. The grain is passed directly through the drying equipment. “Now we have four drying lines. In an hour, an average of one hundred tons of grain is brought to 13 percent humidity, after which it is sent to storage banks. Most of our workers are experienced people who have worked with us for many years”, says Vladimir Sivenkov, chief engineer of the enterprise.

Eduard Chernikov and Rasim Gataullin, students of the Bazarno-Mataksky branch of the Alekseevsky Agricultural College, work here all summer. “They carry out any task. This means that a decent change is growing up”, they say at the enterprise.

According to the operational data of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, on August 20, 19.7 thousand hectares were threshed in Alkeevsky district, which is 59% of the total number of harvested areas, 48.3 thousand tons were threshed, yield is 24.6 centners per hectare.
