Weekdays of farmers: Ducklings from the Cheremshansky district are in demand in Samara and the Penza region

2 August 2019, Friday

Every week, we write about people who have opened their own business in the countryside, family farms and young entrepreneurs, doing what they love. One of them is Alfred Gabshakirov from the Cheremshansky district.

Thanks to his efforts, goslings and ducklings are “bossing” today in a once-empty pig-breeding farm near the village of Stary Kutushi, Cheremshansky District.

The owner of the farm Alfred Gabshakirov became widely known in the area. About 50 thousand heads of ducklings, goslings, muleards quickly found their masters. There are those who purchased birds in large quantities. One man from Apastovsky district bought 1000 goals of monthly mullards.

Alfred living in Stary Kadeev today, spent about six years in Almetyevsk. Having created a family, he returned with his young wife to his native village. Now they are building a house in Cheremshan.

“Our birds are in demand in Bashkortostan, Almetyevsk, Samara and even the Penza region,” says the young businessman. - And today we ourselves are waiting for about 5 thousand ducklings. In two buildings there are more than 2 thousand heads of mullards and geese. We feed them only with high-quality compound feeds. There is almost no death, they grow well. In the afternoon, if the weather is fine, we walk the birds in the spacious courtyard. ”

The Gabshakirovs are hardworking people, almost all the work on the farm they perform themselves. On the farm, only one hired worker helps them. The family also has plans for the future, among which, of course, is repair and modernization of the farm.

For reference:

Mullard ducks are hybrids of crossing musky drakes and Peking ducks. In addition to the Beijing breed, you can also use Rouen, khaki, Ukrainian and even local outbred ducks. Breeding mullards is not an easy task. But the more difficult the task, the more interesting it is. Little mullards are very beautiful in appearance. The color of their plumage is diverse: from yellow with a black speck on the head or tail, to black with a small bright area on the stomach. Mullard ducklings are characterized by high growth rate and excellent taste of meat.
