The results of the competitive selection of projects for the provision of grants by the program “Support for novice farmers”

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan reports on summing up the results of the competition for the selection of projects of peasant farms by the departmental program "Support for beginning farmers in the Republic of Tatarstan for 2017-2020." The total amount of grants was 250 million rubles,145 million rubles of which were allocated from the federal budget, and 105 from the republican budget.

Out of 132 peasant farms that applied for the competition, 105 from 36 municipal districts have won grants. The greatest number of winners is from Chistopol (11), Sabinsky (8), Rybno-Slobodsky (6), Aznakaevsky, Nizhnekamsky, Novosheshminsky, Sarmanovsky, Mamadyshsky (5) municipal districts. Among the winners there are graduates of the School of a young entrepreneur (novice farmer).

Primary beneficiaries will implement livestock projects in meat and dairy cattle breeding, horse breeding, sheep breeding and poultry farming, as well as fruit and berry growing, potato growing, vegetable growing in open and closed ground, production of grain, grain legumes and forage crops.

Grants are sent to support novice farmers on a grant basis on terms of co-financing target costs in accordance with the feasibility study. The size of the grants is determined by the competition commission, taking into account the own funds of the farms and its expenditure plan.

 “In recent years, due to automation of agricultural production and the replacement of heavy manual labor with equipment, the number of the employed rural population has been steadily decreasing in the organizations of the agro-industrial complex. Accordingly, the problem of their employment and profitability arises, a whole complex of interrelated measures is directed in the republic to solve them. The support program for beginning farmers is aimed at raising the living standards of rural residents, ensuring the self-employment of the rural population, increasing the business activity of young people in the countryside, and preserving the rural lifestyle, ”said Rishat Habipov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The ministry provides control over the targeted spending of money by beginning farmers and reminds that the grants are refundable within sixty days from the date of receipt of the relevant requirement from the Ministry when identifying the facts of using the grant for inappropriate purposes and (or) providing the false information and documents for receiving them.
