Today, the heroine of our column “People of Labor”, in which we write about ordinary people who deserve honor and respect with their daily work is Kuzmina Ekaterina Antonovna, who won the title “Best Milkmaid of the TASSR”.

She was born 17th November of 1927 in the village of Panovka, Vysokogorsky District. After graduating from elementary school, she began working as a milkmaid, brigadier and assistant manager at the local Victory collective farm. During the war she had to work as adult.

After the war she married and her daughters were born. And suddenly her husband tragically died. The widowed woman had to take care of children and an old mother. She worked then in the farm "Biryulinsky." But people were ready to help. Milkmaids proposed to join their friendly team. And Ekaterina Antonovna agreed.

Of course, it was not easy - they worked manually. However, she was never afraid of it! Soon they started talking about diligent milkmaid at the state farm. She was one of the first to enter the socialist competition and achieved the production of 4000 kg of milk from each cow per year, she won the title “The Best Milkmaid of the Tatar ASSR”.

In 1964, Ekaterina Antonovna raised the milk yield to 4,500, and in 1965, to 4,635 kg of milk. At the same time she served a greater number of cows than other milkmaids, and even managed to be a mentor for the young.

March 22, 1966 By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, Ekaterina Kuzmina was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the gold medal for the successes achieved in the development of animal husbandry, increasing the production and procurement of meat, milk and other products.

Kuzmina was several times elected as deputy of the village and district Soviets, was a candidate member of the regional party committee, a member of the Vysokogorsky district committee of the CPSU. Having worked at the state farm until 1985, then she retired.
