Thrashing of sunflowers keeps going on in OOO “Omara” Agro-firm of Mamadysh municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan. This year 1,226 ha of fields were sown with this crop. Combine operators Ilfat Khairullin and Ildar Shayakhmetov, Mansur Mukhutdinov the driver, etc. participated in harvesting.

“I am from the village of Nizhnyaya Oshma and have been operating a combine for a long time. In recent years I have been working in agro-firm “Omara”. Sunflower thrashing has its own peculiarities.Now it’s wet. During a day we usually mill 15 tanks of sunflowers, each of which can contain over 3 tons of the crop. Though the crops is wet, it is light. When the weather becomes frosty, it will be easier to thrash. After that, sunflowers are cleared and dried”, - said Ilfat Khairullin.

As of today, 62,400 ha of fields with sunflowers have been thrashed in the Republic of Tatarstan (48% of the plan). 89,100 tons of oil seeds have been milled at the average crop yield of 14.3 dt/ha.
