Marat Akhmetov: 5 million tons of grain harvested in Tatarstan

A weekly session with participation of directors of subdivisions and subordinate enterprises took place in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan. The session was held by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov.

5 million tons of grain have been harvested in Tatarstan, according to the minister’s words at the beginning of the session. “It became possible for us to achieve such a result owing to quality and timely agro-technical activities, sufficient deposit of moisture in the meter-deep soil layer and, of course, hard work of village people”.

Now the weather is very favourable for harvesting of sugar beetroot and potato. These days Zainsk municipal district is going to start harvesting maize, added Marat Akhmetov.

It is worth mentioning that almost all municipal districts have finished harvesting of grains and pulses. The biggest yield is in Buinsk municipal district – 200,900 tons at the average crop yield of 37 dt/ha. In Zainsk municipal district 190,100 tons of grain have been milled at the average crop yield of 49.9 dt/ha, in Sarmanovo – 189,300 tons (44.4 dt/ha).

Harvesting of sugar beetroot and potato is also going on in Tatarstan. As of today, 1,067,700 tons of sugar beetroot have been harvested from 28,000 ha of fields (38% of the plan). 4,000 ha of fields with potato have been cleared (65%), 85,100 tons have been harvested.
