Tatarstan has preserved 2.15 million tons of grain. The crop yield stays on the high level of 36.6 dt/ha, which is by 9 dt/ha more than it was in 2016. The facts were stated by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov at a republican session in the House of Government, today.

The videoconferencing session was held with all municipal districts by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin took part in the session, too.

“These days we receive over 180,000 tons of grain every day, - said Marat Akhmetov. – Yesterday we managed to reach the maximum productivity of 185,000 tons of grain yield. We should maintain momentum in the nearest future”.

As of today, about 40% of fields have been cleared (which is almost 600,000 ha), noted Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan. According to his words, the best records in harvesting are shown by agriculturalists of Zainsk, Apastovo, Chistopol, Alkeevo and some other municipal districts.

According to Marat Akhmetov’s words, the situation on Tatarstan fields is the following: winter crops and barley became overripe on 300,000 ha of lands. That is why, it is necessary to exercise best efforts in order to avoid losses.

The minister also named a number of districts which should work harder, they are: Bugulma, Pestretsy, Verkhniy Uslon, Bavly and Kamskoe Ustye municipal districts.

“A lot of districts have good records and work efficiently, - he summed up. – However, to finish harvesting on time will be not easy even for the leading districts”

Marat Akhmetov noted that at the end of the week the weather could change so it was necessary to finish harvesting of winter crops and pea from 200,000 ha of fields.

The President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov also asked agricultural producers to work hard under favourable weather conditions.
