Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov made a working trip to Chistopol municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan today. A regional session devoted to “Sowing of winter crops, basic soil preparation and filling with seeds” was held on one of variety trial fields there. Chiefs, directors and specialists of regional directorates for agriculture from 11 municipal districts of the republic participated in the session. First of all, the results of ground testing of seeds of winter wheat, barley and pea were presented to the participants. The testing had been carried out by specialists of the Ministry of agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, the branch of the FSBI “State Variety Commission” of the Republic of Tatarstan, the branch of the FSBI “Russian Agricultural Center” of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as representatives of “Elite Tatarstan seeds” Association. 400 samples had been tested in total. Deputy Minister Ildus Gabdrakhmanov paid special attention to the quality of seeds and availability of certificates.

There is a great concern about the forthcoming filling with seeds. It will not be easy to provide control and drying of seeds up-to-the-mark. That is why the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan strongly recommends to use desiccants, especially on seed plots.

Having inspected the plots with different varieties of winter and spring crops, Marat Akhmetov noted that there were a lot of bread cereals on the fields of the republic and the main thing was to harvest everything without losses.

“We have a serious task now. This year there is a chance to break the record of previous years. That is why we should provide a daily grain yield of 200,000 tons in order not to drag out harvesting”, - said the minister.

After that, Marat Akhmetov inspected harvesting in “Zakamye-Agro” agricultural enterprise. Here he rewarded the best combine operators of the enterprise with money certificated: Radik Nugumanov, Evgeniy Kozlov, Evgeniy Kuzmin and Anton Andreev. Every year the best farmers are rewarded in the district. This incentive increases workforce productivity and material interest of mechanizers.

As Almaz Gataullin, an agricolist at OOO “Zakamye Agro”, noted, over 1,000 tons of grains had been milled in the enterprise at the average crop yield of 50 dt/ha.

“Specialists of the enterprise were able to reach great results owing to timely field tilling and favourable labour conditions”, - emphasized the minister and wished farmers to have rich harvest.
