Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Minister of agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov reported on field work, expected crop yield and crop treatment on Tatarstan fields at a republican session in the House of Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The videoconferencing session with all municipal districts was held by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin also took part in the session.
Thus, Minster of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan stated that anti-weed treatment had been carried out on 1.63 million h of fields in the republic, anti-pest treatment - on 530,000 ha, anti-disease treatment – on 590,000 ha.
Foliar dressing had been carried out on almost 1 million ha of fields.
Marat Akhmetov also informed about preparatory work in some spheres of agriculture.
Speaking about the state of forage preservation, the minister informed that as of June 30, 2017, 50,000 tons of hay, 900,000 tons of haylage and 310,000 tons of other fodder had been made in the republic.
5 dt of fodder per cattle animal had been preserved in the republic. The leading municipal districts in forage making are Sarmanovo (11 dt), zainsk (10.8 dt), Apastovo (8.8 dt). Arsk, Baltasi and Verkhniy Uslon municipal districts show poor records (3.8 – 4 dt).
The President of the Republic of Tatarstan asked heads of municipal districts and directors of agricultural enterprises to take the issues of forage preservation seriously.
He also reminded that on July 5-7, 2017, “All-Russia Day of Field – 2017” was held in Tatarstan. This innovative agro-technological exhibition takes place on trial fields of Tatar Science and Research Institute for Agriculture not far from Kazan.
Rustam Minnikhanov suggested Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan to use the exhibition sites as a place to train republican farmers, exchange experience, and to offer local agricultural producers an opportunity to learn about the most modern technologies in the sphere of AIC. “It is very important work, - he said. – We should benefit maximum from the exhibition. At the exhibition one will be able to see the latest agricultural machinery and equipment, to take experience in crop husbandry and selection, and to learn the most modern agricultural practices”, - said Rustam Minnikhanov.
