Marat Akhmetov: farmers from all over the country will visit Tatarstan to participate in “All-Russia Day of Field” on July 5-7

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmnetov reported on crop tending at a session in the House of Government of the Republic of Tatarstan today.

The videoconferencing session with all municipal districts of the Republic of Tatarstan was held by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

Grains and pulses are sown on 1.6 million ha of fields, technical crops – on 283,000 ha, where 74,000 ha ra eoccupied by sugar beetroot and 131,000 ha – by sunflower.

According to the words of Marat Akhmetov, the state of winter crops let farmers to expect good yield.

He also noted that high soil humidity on the fields causes diseases and weeds, so anti-fungal and anti-parasitic treatment, as well as foliar dressing, should be carried out for all winter crops.

Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan paid special attention to corn, which occupies 240,000 ha, where 79,000 ha are sown by maize and 161,000 are sown with corn for silage.

As of forage preservation, today all perennial grasses are ready for cutting and in the nearest future the 1st grass cut has to be finished.

“This year usage of conserving agents is obligatory for all households, - said Marat Akhmetov. – Without them we will receive haylage with a lot of oil acid in its content. There is a wide range of different conserving agents available on the market”.

As of today, 9,000 tons of hay and 390,000 tons of haylage have been made in the republic, which is 130,000 tons of forage per animal or 2.2 dt of forage.

The situation in some municipal districts is the following: 7.5 dt of forage per cattle animal have been preserved in Sarmanovo, 7.3 dt – in Zainsk, 4.8 dt – in Apastovo, 3.8 dt – in Alkeevo, 3.8 dt – in Kaibitsy and 3.7 dt – in Alekseevskoe.

“The forthcoming week is busy to make forage, - said Marat Akhmetov. – That is why I ask heads of districts to analyze forage preservation and to set the tasks for each director of agricultural enterprises”.

Marat Akhmetov reminded that on July 5-7, 2017, farmers from all over the country will visit Tatarstan to participate in “All-Russia Day of Field”, which takes place on trial fields of Tatar Science and Research Institute for Agriculture. Over 160 exhibitors are expected to participate in the event, thousands of people are going to visit it.

“The yield depends a lot on autumn soil tillage. Tillage is carried out on over 400,000 ha of fields. However, the need for tillage is even higher – on over 800,000 ha of fields, - said the minister. – Unfortunately, agricultural producers have poor energy sufficiency”.

Marat Akhmetov reported that with the concurrence of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan a decision was made to purchase Russian energy-packed tractors (over 300 CV) according to 50/50 financial scheme. This means that 50% of the cost is paid from the republican budget and the rest 50% is paid by households themselves. In total, 600 million rubles are allocated for the program, which enables to purchase about 200 tractors. Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan asked heads of municipal districts to pay special attention to the issue because it is a unique opportunity to increase engineering capacity of Tatarstan enterprises.
