Marat Akhmetov: Tatarstan agricultural enterprises and peasant farm enterprises have produced about 160,000 tons of meat and poultry within 5 months of 2017

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov reported on the state of crop husbandry at the session in the House of Government of the Republic of Tatarstan today.

The videoconferencing session with all municipal districts was held by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin took part in it, too.

Marat Akhmetov stated that farmers should have stared the first hay of grasses within the framework of forage preservation and by June 25 the majority of work should have been completed. According to his words, this year corn falls behind in growing while this corn is an important source for forage stock.

At the session, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan reported briefly on animal breeding records for 5 months of 2017 in agricultural enterprises and peasant farm enterprises.

Thus, within 5 months of 2017, agricultural enterprises and peasant farm enterprises have produced about 160,000 tons of meat and poultry (101%), where 83,400 tons have been produced by poultry breeders. The leading enterprises in poultry production are OOO “Chelny-Broiler” and “Ak Bars” Holding company. 41,300 tons of livestock meat (104%) and 33,900 tons of pork have been produced.

Speaking about milk, 522,000 tons have been produced within 5 months of 2017 (105%). 472,000 tons of milk (104%) have been distributed.

380 million eggs (109%) have been produced within 5 months of 2017.

There was an increase in livestock population by the beginning of the current year, said Marat Akhmetov.

Thus, as of June 1 2017, the cattle population in agricultural enterprises and peasant farm enterprises was 748,900 livestock animals (101%), including 248,800 cow, 410,100 pigs and 63,300 goats and sheep.

“There is a number of municipal districts in the republic where farmers fail to preserve cattle population though in the winter there was a great opportunity to earn owing to milk production and distribution and preserve livestock this way, - said Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan. – They are Kamskoe Ustye, Verkhniy Uslon, Arsk, Tukaevo, Pestretsy and Muslyumovo municipal districts”.

The biggest increase in population is shown in Baltasi, Kukmor, Buinsk and Alkeeo municipal districts.

Speaking about the current state of milk production, Marat Akhmetov informed that agricultural enterprises produced over 3,700 tons of milk. The gain in daily milk yield is about 140 tons compared with the previous year level.
