Marat Akhmetov: spring sowing has been finished on 1.8 million ha of fields, the total sowing area is 2.9 million ha this year

Sowing is well organized in the Republic of Tatarstan and the weather conditions provided optimum sowing thickness. It was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov at a republican session in the House of Government of the Republic of Tatarstan today.

The videoconferencing session with all municipal districts was held by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin took part in the session, too.

According to the words of the minister of agriculture and food of the republic of Tatarstan, spring sowing has been carried out on 1.8 million ha of fields while the total sowing area is 2.9 million ha.

Due to the weather conditions, growing of plants falls behind, but, according to Marat Akhmetov’s words, this is not of critical character.

Winter crops have been preserved on over 500,000 ha. Protective activities have been carried out almost everywhere, including anti-weed and anti-disease activities.

A lot of farm households have started radical dressing of spring and industrial crops. Marat Akhmetov also reported, that “Ammoniy” factory was ready to provide nitrogen fertilizers at reduced prices: ammonium saltpeter – 10,700 rubles per ton and carbamide – 15,000 rubles per ton.

Speaking about preparation of machinery for fodder making, the readiness of forage machinery is 95% as of today, stated the minister. There are about 900 self-propelled forage harvesters, 420 self-propelled mowers, 1,300 trail-behind mowers and other forage machinery. This enables to hay on 40,000 ha of fields every day and to make top quality forage in time.

According to the words of Marat Akhmetov, machinery acceptance has been carried out in majority of municipal districts, they are: Aktanysh, Arsk, Atnya, Baltasi, Vysokaya Gora, Zainsk, Sarmanovo and Tyulyachi municipal districts.

The minister of agriculture and food of the republic of Tatarstan also reported on implementation of the program on technical modernization for the oil zone districts with the participation of “Tatneft” company (according to the scheme “34x33x33”). Forage machinery is ready on the site of OOO “AgroIdea” in Leninogorsk: 156 units of forage machinery have been manufactured out of 514 (30% of the plan), 74 units have been distributed to farms, 82 units are ready for dispatch. According to his words, farm households do not hurry to bring the necessary documents for subsidies into the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan though it is a great opportunity to renew the machinery fleet.

At the session, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan expressed his interest concerning the forthcoming crop yield. Answering the question, Marat Akhmetov noted that there were some risks for corn and sunflower yield due to the lack of warm weather. Speaking about forage preservation he said that the issue of additional sowing of perennial grasses had been discussed in the republic while a number of municipal districts could carry out only one mowing.
