Possibility to keep the level of cost prices for milk stable in the republic discussed in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan

A session on procurement pricing for milk was held in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan today.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov, 1st Deputy Minister Nikolai Titov, traders and representatives of enterprises on milk processing took part in the session.

During the session it was noted that as of the current day, over 3,600 tons of milk are produced daily in Tatarstan, 2,900 tons of milk are processed by enterprises. OOO “Prosto Moloko”, OOO “Archa”, OOO “Kasymovski Milk complex”, OAO “Alabuga Sote”, etc. are engaged in milk processing.

Owing to implementation of branch state supportive programs the number of people engaged in agricultural production is increasing, including those dealing with milk production. 1,205 family farms and 824 dairy mini-farms have been constructed in the republic over recent years.

Marat Akhmetov emphasized that it is impossible to lower cost prices for milk. The minister asked representatives of processing enterprises to re-evaluate their relationships with traders and to switch to direct buying from farm households.

The participants also discussed the opportunity to preserve the level of cost prices for milk in the republic.
