The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan: in agricultural enterprises 192,000 tons of milk and 61,000 tons meat and poultry have been produced for 2 months of 2017

Animal breeding records for January and February 2017 were discussed in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan today. The session was chaired by Deputy Animal Breeding Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Nazip Khazipov.

At the beginning of the session Nazip Khazipov gave a speech. He reported that as of March 1 2017, cattle population in the republic was 745,000 animals, including 249,000 cows. 192,000 tons of milk were produced (103%), 61,000 tons of meat and poultry were produced (101%). The calf crop was 55,000 animals (100%).

According to the deputy minister’s words, the cattle population has increased in Kukmor, Almetyevsk, Zelenodolsk, Menzelinsk, Zainsk and Baltasi municipal districts compared with the previous year. The greatest downsize is in Chistopol, Alkeevo, Cheremshan, tukaevo, buinsk and Elabuga districts.

The biggest increase in milk production is in Atnya, Kukmor, Zainsk, Aksubaevo and Novosheshminsk municipal districts. Poor records are in Kamskoe Unstye, Muslyumovo, Apastovo, Kaibitsy and Menzelinsk municipal districts.

After that a report was given by Chief at “CSA Directorate for Pedigree Lovestock Breeding of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan” Rishat Zaripov. He spoke on reproduction of cattle in Tatarstan enterprises and paid special attention to the importance of the profession of a process engineer on artificial insemination of cattle. “The districts with good records on calf crop are Alkeevo, Zinsk, Atnya, Aktanysh, Drozhzhanoe”, - noted Rishat Zaripov.

Concluding the session, Nazip Khazipov touched upon the issues of proper keeping and feeding of cattle, the need for nutritious fodder, etc.
