In 2017 Tatarstan farmers are to provide increase in crop husbandry production by 10% and in animal breeding production by 5%

Following the results of 2016, the volume of gross agricultural output in all categories of enterprises was 238.6 billion rubles, the increase was 5%. The republic took the 3rd place among constituent entities of the Russian Federation. 4.3 million tons of grain, 2.3 million tons of sugar beetroot, over 400,000 tons of vegetables were harvested. 1,770,400 tons of milk, 484,300 tons of meat and poultry were produced. This year Tatarstan AIC has difficult tasks, namely – to provide increase in crop husbandry production by 10% and in animal breeding production – by 5%.

Currently, preparation for spring field work keeps going on in the republic. The sowing area is 2.9 million ha. The need for seeds of spring crops is 344,000 tons, the self-sufficiency in them is 378,200 tons (110%). There are 130,000 tons of active mineral fertilizers in Tatarstan, or 44.5 kg/ha.

About 14,000 tractors, over 6,000 seeding machines, 600 sowing complexes and other machinery and equipment will be exploited during spring field work. It will enable to hold the sowing campaign within the set agro-technical terms.

With the aim to increase animal breeding production in Tatarstan, introduction of modern technologies of cattle keeping and feeding, as well as construction of modern complexes will be continued.
