Marat Akhmetov: “It is impossible to develop without innovations”

The opening ceremony of the Volga Region Agroindustrial Forum took place at the exhibition center “Kazan Fair” today.

The following officials took part in the opening ceremony: Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov, Chairman at the Committee of Ecology, Nature Management, Agro-Industrial and Foodstuff Policy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Takhir Khadeev, Chairman at the Tatarstan Association of Farmers and Peasant Farm Enterprises Kamiyar Baitemorov, CEO at the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Tatarstan Shamil Ageev, Technical Director at OOO “Reproduct” Alexander Maltsev and Director General at OAO “Kazan Fair” Lev Semenov.

“250 companies which present new technologies participate in the forum. They are willing to be useful for AIC and we are thankful for that. Agricultural producers of the republic should examine displays and stands of each participant within 3 days of the forum. It is impossible to develop without innovations. There are a lot of challenges in arable farming and animal breeding, but we can reach all the targets owing to such exhibition sites”, - said Marat Akhmetov in his opening speech.

Takhir Khadeev reminded that the Republic of Tatarstan is in the zone of “risk farming”. “Despite this fact we provide foodstuff safety every year. Today directors of successful enterprises, farm households, cooperatives and scientists are meeting within the framework of the forum. This meeting is important and I hope that it will boost up development so that we will be able to reach the set targets”, - said Takhir Khadeev.

Kamiyar Baitemirov emphasized that the forum brought good results last years. “We are entering a new stage of development in farming for farm peasant farm enterprises and agricultural cooperatives. Among the set tasks there is development of cooperation. I thank all the participants for contribution to our progress”, - noted Chairman at the Tatarstan Association of Farmers and Peasant Farm Enterprises.

Shamil Ageev and Alexander Maltsev also greeted the forum participants and wished them successful work.

After that the ribbon was snipped and the forum started its work.
