Problems of horticultural societies were discussed in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan

A session devoted to important issues of horticultural, market-gardening and dacha non-profit associations of the Republic of Tatarstan took place in the Ministry of Agriculture and food of the Republic of Tatarstan. The session was chaired by the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Nikolai Titov.

Representatives of branch ministries and agencies of the republic took part in the session.

First Deputy Minister Nikolai Titov gave a report. He noted that in Tatarstan there are 376 horticultural plots of the total area of 28,000 ha, where over 17,000 ha are a private property. As of October 21 2016, there are 851 horticultural non-profit associations. “Horticulture is especially developed in the suburbs of Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny. People provide not only themselves with vegetables, they partly distribute products”, - reported Nikolai Titov.

The first deputy minister also presented the figures concerning the inventory of horticultural societies. “There is a need for 707 km of access roads, 438 km of primary transmission lines, 544 transformer substation, 1,600 km of water pipelines, 255 water stations, 240 water pumping stations, and 154 drill holes”, - reminded Nikolai Titov.

Suggestions of members from the Interdepartmental working party, established by order № 2103-р of Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers dated by September 27 2016, were discussed during the session, plans and schedules to hold the corresponding events were developed.
