Since the beginning of autumn farmers started to change cattle housing into the winter one. In Novosheshminsk municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan 99% of cows and rearers have been transferred to winter stabling. One of the first peasant farm enterprises to do that was “Arkhangelskoe”.
“To provide enough forage for cattle, this year our mechnanizers have grown suficient fodder (hay, straw, silage, haylage), our cattle will also get grain fodder”, - said Tatyana Beloglazova, the head of the peasant farm enterprise.
In the summer cattle storages were repaired and snugged for winter. According to the words of the director of the peasant farm enterprise, cattle had a gradual transition to winter diet. Due to the fact that in the autumn there is little nourishment in the grass, cattle breeders added top quality haylage into the cattle diet.
Now the main aim of the enterprise is to keep the achieved level of milk yield (16 kg per cow).
