The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan: 810,900 ha have been sowed with spring crops, which is by 280,800 ha more than last year

As of May 7, 2016, in total 810,900 ha have been sowed with spring crops in the republic, which is 46% of the plan. As of this date last year, 530,100 ha had been sowed with spring crops.

The leading districts are Zainsk (36,200 ha have been sowed with crops, which is 71%), Sarmanovo (32,100 ha or 58%), Aznakaevo (30,000 ha or 46%) municipal districts.

In total spring grains have been sowed on 574,300 ha (or 55% of the plan) in the republic (in 2015 – 396,000 ha), where 164,800 ha (or 37%) have been sowed with spring wheat (in 2015 – 64,500 ha), 285,400 ha (or 80%) – with barley (in 2015 – 251,300 ha), 50,800 ha (or 81%) – with oat (in 2015 – 44,000 ha), 41,900 ha (or 76%) – with pea (in 2015 – 25,500 ha), 24,900 ha (or 27%) – with grain maize (in 2015 – 7,200 ha), and 6,700 ha (or 4%) – with silage (in 2015 – 4,200 ha).

12,800 ha (11%) have been sowed with rape (in 2015 – 5,700 ha), 47,700 ha (43%) have been sowed with sunflower for oilseeds (in 2015 – 13,800 ha).

38,500 ha (61%) have been sowed with sugar beetroot (in 2015 – 22,700 ha).

124,800 ha (46%) have been sowed with annual grasses (in 2015 – 86,500 ha).
