The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan: 532,100 ha have been sowed with spring crops, which is by 306,400 ha more than last year

As of May, 4, 2016, in total 532,100 ha have been sowed with spring crops in the republic, which is 30% of the plan. As of this date last year, 225,700 ha had been sowed with spring crops.

The leading districts are Zainsk (32,000 ha have been sowed with crops, which is 63%), Sarmanovo (23,400 ha, or 43%), Chistopol (22,400 ha, or 36%) municipal districts.

Spring grains have been sowed on 385,400 ha in the republic (37%), where 88,400 ha have been sowed with spring wheat (20%), 213,200 ha – with barley (60%), 41,200 ha – with oat (66%), 30,000 ha – with pea (54%), and 8,500 ha – with grain maize (9%).

4,400 ha (4%) have been sowed with rape, 28,400 ha (26%) have been sowed with sunflower for oilseeds.

26,500 ha have been sowed with sugar beetroot (42%).
