The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan: 211,600 ha have been sowed with spring crops, which is by 191,400 ha more than last year

As of April 29, 2016, in total 211,600 ha have been sowed with spring crops in the republic, which is 12% of the plan. As of this date last year, 20,200 ha had been sowed with spring crops.

The leading districts are Zainsk (18,600 ha have been sowed with crops, which is 36%), Sarmanovo (15,500 ha, or 28%), Chistopol (12,600 ha, or 20%), Nurlat (12,500 ha, or 27%), and Aznakaevo (12,400 ha, or 19%) municipal districts.

Spring grains have been sowed on 156,100 ha in the republic (15%), where 21,400 ha have been sowed with spring wheat (5%), 102,600 ha – with barley (29%), 21,300 ha – with oat (34%), 7,800 ha – with pea (14%), and 2,100 ha – with grain maize (2%).

500 ha (0.4%) have been sowed with rape, 10,100 ha (9%) have been sowed with sunflower for oilseeds.

11,200 ha have been sowed with sugar beetroot (18%).
