The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan: 150,100 ha have been sowed with spring crops, which is by 136,000 ha more than last year

As of April 28, 2016, in total 150,100 ha have been sowed with spring crops in the republic, which is 8% of the plan. As of this date last year, 14,100 ha had been sowed with spring crops.

The leading districts are Zainsk (15,300 ha have been sowed with crops, which is 30%), Sarmanovo (13,600 ha, or 25%), Chistopol (10,200 ha, or 17%) municipal districts.

Spring grains have been sowed on 114,400 ha in the republic (11%), where 13,500 ha have been sowed with spring wheat (3%), 76,400 ha – with barley (21%), 17,500 ha – with oat (28%), 4,800 ha – with pea (9%), and 1,500 ha – with grain maize (2%).

400 ha (0.4%) have been sowed with rape, 6,800 ha (6%) have been sowed with sunflower for oilseeds.

7,400 ha have been sowed with sugar beetroot (12%).
