In 2015, 162 ha of orchards with drip watering have been laid out in Tatarstan

In Tatarstan dozens of new competitive specialized peasant farm enterprises have appeared recently, they deal with growing of fruit and berry crops and vegetable crops with watering.

In 2015, 162 ha of orchards with drip watering have been laid out, over 3,000 ha of irrigated lands for watering of vegetables have been laid.

Within last 2 years over 10,000 ha of irrigated lands have been put into exploitation, 162 water pipelines have been reconstructed.

"Such great achievements became possible in Tatarstan owing to implementation of big federal and republican special purpose programs on amelioration, within the framework of which a great part of agricultural producers' expenses on construction, reconstruction and technical modernization of irrigated lands and water pipelines are subsidized", - commented Mars Khismatullin, director of the FSBI "Directorte "Tatmeliovodkhoz".

This year the amelioration program action will continue: it is planned to construct and reconstruct over 3,000 ha of irrigated lands, reconstruct over 60 ponds and water pipelines, lay out over 230 ha of orchards with drip watering.

Last week the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan examined regional programs on amelioration with the aim to find out if they meet the requirements of the federal special purpose program on subsidizing from the federal budget in 2016. The republican program of Tatarstan made it past the filter and will get subsidies from the federal budget.
