Forest ranges protect soil fertility an increase field productiveness. As of today, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan prepared a project on financial support for 2016 with the aim to bring into action the plan to create woodland conservative and field protective forest ranges. The work should be done with the aim to prevent water erosion and in some municipal districts of the south-eastern region of the republic – to prevent dry hot wind.
In order to make an agenda specialists of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan sent requests to Tatarstan municipal districts. As of today, suggestions concerning woodland conservancy, soil protection and forest ranges for the total area of 2,036 ha in 2016 were made by Arsk, Baltasi, Mamadysh, Saby, Pestretsy, Tyulyachi and a number of other municipal districts. Suggestions were made by other municipal districts as well.
Forest ranges increase productiveness of croplands by 10-20%, especially in drought years, owing to equal distribution of snow on the fields and raise of moistness in the intermediate belt.
In 2015, 2,194 ha of agricultural lands were planted with forest ranges. 150 million rubles were spent.
