Sunflower and grain maize harvesting is finishing in the nearest future

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Minister of agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan – Marat Akhmetov reported on finishing of sunflower and grain maize harvesting at the session in the House of Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, today.

Ildar Khalikov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, held the videoconferencing session with all municipal districts.

Marat Akhmetov reported that unfavourable weather prevented fast harvesting, but it would be finished in the nearest future.

Soil tilling keeps going on in the republic, as of today 1.7 million ha have been tilled.

The minister of agriculture and food of the republic of Tatarstan also reported on the preparation of seeds for harvest 2016. There is a need of 355,000 tons for grain and pulse seeds in the republic, 365,000 tons have been sowed (103%).

Speaking about potato, the gross potato yield is 1.5 million tons. According to forecasts, there will be 10,000 ha of lands for potato next year.

Agricultural producers are supplied with seeds of corn, ripe, sunflower.
