The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan is carrying out a weekly monitoring of prices for basic kinds of food products. Thus, from July 27 till August 3 2015 the following food products got cheaper in the republic of Tatarstan: potato (-5.6%), eggs (-0.3%), sour cream and butter (-0.2%), chicken (-0.1%).
Prices for creamy cottage cheese, 2.5-3.2% whole pasteurized milk, rye and mixed rye-wheat bread, bread as well as rolls and buns made of first grade flour remained stable.
There is a price rise for sugar (1.6%), beef, buckwheat, hard and soft rennet cheese (0.3%), oil and wheat flour (0.2%).
Comparison of the level of the average prices for food products in the Republic of Tatarstan with the prices in other regions in the Volga Federal District reveals that the republic takes the first place with the lowest prices for sour cream (129.7 rubles/kg), the 4th place with the price for butter (320.3 rub/kg), 2.5-3.2% pasteurized milk (37.7 rub/kg), the 5th place with the price for wheat flour (28.2 rub/kg), hard and soft rennet cheese (353.5 rub/kg).
As of August 3 2015 among million-cities Kazan takes the 1st place as the city with the lowest prices for wheat flour, 2.5-3.2% whole pasteurized milk, oil, sour cream, butter, bread, rolls and buns made of 1st grade flour. The list also includes hard and soft rennet cheese and sugar. The Tatarstan capital takes the 2nd place with the prices for hen eggs, chicken, rye bread, mixed rye-wheat bread, beef, potato, creamy cottage cheese; the city takes the 3rd place with the price for buckwheat.
