Agricultural lands should be efficient

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan pays great attention to the issue of cultivation of useless agricultural lands.

During 2014, among the examined agricultural lands 66,800 ha of lands were found which were useless or were used inefficiently. Part of them (26,800 ha) started to be used for agricultural purposes in 2015.

According to the legislative amendments, namely Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation №1 dated by January 2, 2015 “Statute confirmation on the state land surveillance”, the power of the state land surveillance over the use of agricultural lands is devolved on the Directorate of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance.

Currently, to carry our the administrative examination of agricultural lands and to detect violations in the land law, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan in liaison with the Directorate of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Chamber of Land and Property Regulations are appointing responsible managers of agriculture directorates for these lands in municipal districts of the republic.
