Rustam Minnikhanov: the issue of food safety is extremely vital

VII International Economic Summit of Russia and Organization of Islamic Cooperation countries “Kazansummit” took place in Kazan, as it was reported by the press service of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.

At the meeting with the representatives of foreign and federal mass media, the interim President of the Republic of Tatarstan answered questions concerning attraction of foreign investments into economic spheres. Thus, discussing the issue of attracting investments into agriculture Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that food safety was extremely vital, especially speaking about Arabic countries, which purchased food. We are actively working on this issue and suggest our partners coming to Russia and its regions with investments, projects, said Rustam Minnikhanov. He gave an example of the project with Turkish partners on creation of a big greenhouse facility (vegetables growing) on the territory of the economic area “Alabuga” in Elabuga municipal district of the republic.

“Today Russia is importing food, while the country has to export it, we have all we need for that”, - said Rustam Minnikhanov. – “We have huge land resources, and we need investments to make everything work. I have already said that Tatarstan, for example, is ready to take investments into any sphere, including agriculture. We support this idea”.
