Construction of the biggest in Russia poultry processing complex has begun in the republic

The capacity of a new complex for processing of poultry will be 49,500 tons a year. The construction was started by poultry plant “Chelny-Broiler”.

This is one of the highest figures in this branch. Over 2 billion rubles will be invested into the project, the payback period of the project is 5 years.

Owing to the new complex the republic, being in top ten Russian poultry producers, will be among three best national producers and processors of poultry.

Last year 119,000 tons of poultry were produced in Tatarstan. Taking into consideration the population of over 3.8 million people and the medical standards of 30 kg for a person a year, the need for poultry is 115,100 tons. Thus, poultry self-sufficiency of the republic was 103.4% in 2014.  

Today Tatarstan is fully self-sufficient in chicken. Tatarstan poultry breeders are planning to enter new Russian and foreign markets. Russian anti-sanctions will be only beneficial for local producers here.

“Sanctions cut both ways. On one hand, they help us to develop, because the demand for domestic poultry has increased after the borders have been closed. On the other hand, rise in the dollar has led to the increase of costs on import components used in the production of broilers”, - explained Director General of “Chelny-Broiler” company Svetlana Barsukova.
