International Milk Day

A lot of people may be surprised having found out that such a holiday as the International Milk Day exists. Today citizens of more than 40 countries celebrate this day. The Organization of United Nations adopted the decree concerning the International Milk Day in 2001. So now every year on June 1 there is an opportunity to remember once again the advantage of milk and dairy products.

In many countries this day they hold international exhibitions of dairy products, where people also can learn new technologies used during production of cheese, yoghurt, milk, etc. there are also plenty of lectures, seminars devoted to dairy products. Participants and guests can see themselves how hard the work of farmers is and how all production standards are met.

The most active country in celebration of the International Milk Day was Germany, which can be called “a milk country”. According to the statistics, over 100,000 farmers are involved in milk production.

This holiday is on the same day with the International Children’s Day. Children are the main consumers of milk, which influence physical and mental development a lot. Milk is so rich in minerals and micro-elements that it cannot be replaced by even the most modern vitamin complexes.

It is worth mentioning that today the daily gross milk production is 3,474.8 tons, which is by 127.6 tons more than it was last year.

Leaders in daily milk production are Baltasi (174.1 tons), Kukmor (167.5 tons), Arsk (163 tons) and Флефтныр (158 tons) municipal districts.

The biggest average daily milk yield per cow is in Atnya municipal district (20.9 kg), in Saby (18.8 kg) and Mamadysh (18.7 kg) municipal districts are also good results.

The growth rate in milk yield has made up 187.3 tons by the beginning of the current month.
