Sowing of spring crops is going on in Tatarstan

According to the recent data of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, 1,280,000 ha of lands have been sowed with spring crops in the republic.

Sowing of barley is finishing – 385,800 ha (96%) have been already sowed with this crop. 56,700 ha of lands (90%) have been sowed with pea, 352,300 ha (74%) – with spring wheat.

Tatarstan farmers are sowing corn (25,100 ha or 71% of the forecasted lands have been sowed) and rape (24,400 ha or 27% of the forecasted lands have been sowed).

In Almetyevsk, Arsk, Baltasi, Buinsk, Vysokaya Gora, Drozhzhanoe, Zelenodolsk, Menzelinsk, Nizhnekamsk and Tukaevo municipal districts farmers started to set potato. As of May 14, 9% of the forecasted lands have been put in with this crop by agricultural organizations and farm households.

208,400 ha (73%) have been sowed with annual grasses and feed mix.
