Russian display at exhibition “Green week”

The Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Nikolai Fedorov inaugurated the Russian display of the International Trade Exhibition of Food Processing Industry, Gardening, Agriculture and Forestry “Green Week”, which takes place in the exhibition hall “Messe Berlin” in the capital of the Federal Republic of Germany, on January 16-25 2015.

Representatives of both chambers of the Russian Parliament, federal and regional executive authorities, scientific community and business also participated in the opening ceremony.

Greeting guests and participants of the exhibition, Nikolai Fedorov noted that nowadays we needed to preserve customs and traditions for further development of our civilization. “Russian village is a symbol of close affinity between the past and the future. Farmers, stock breeders, fishermen are not simple bread-winners. They preserve spiritual wealth of the nation, ancient customs and traditions and hand them down from generation to generation.”, emphasized the minister. “Feodor Dostoyevsky denoted one of the key characteristics of the Russian people – “global responsiveness”. We are open for mutual constructive work with the aim to provide population of our planet with the stuff of life and spiritual food”, summed up Nikolai Fedorov.

The Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, the Federal Minister of Foodstuff, Agriculture and Consumer Rights Protection of Germany Christian Schmidt and other VIP guests visited the Russian pavilion. This year our country showcases its display for the 21st time. About 200 companies from 15 Russian regions present their scientific developments, new technologies in the sphere of agriculture as well as investment projects. The participating regions show different aspects of rural life from the best side: from best quality products to folk crafts.

The exhibition program is aimed at building of mutually beneficial contacts between producers and consumers. The Russian delegation representatives are going to take part in the Global Foodstuff and Agriculture Forum and the Summit of Ministers of Agriculture. According to the schedule of the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Nikolai Fedorov, he is going to participate in a number of press conferences and meetings with official representatives from foreign countries.

Presentations of different Russian constituent entities, the contest “Safety and quality of agricultural products and foodstuff”, store demonstration, workshops devoted to the national cuisine and folk crafts as well as different kinds of performances will be carried out during the international agricultural forum.

It should be noted that the Tatarstan agricultural delegation is headed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov.
