Press conference with Marat Akhmetov

Today Deputy Prime-Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov summarized the results of Tatarstan AIC work for 2014. He emphasized the need for foreign and federal investors in agricultural sector of the republic.

This year the gross crop yield is 3.6 million tons. It is enough to provide the population of the republic with grains. The grains will be used for different needs.

The minster named the leaders in the harvesting campaign 2014.

The minister believes that Tatarstan agricultural production should be actively offered to other regions of the Russian Federation.

In cattle breeding milk production has increased by 2-2.5% in comparison with last year.

Agricultural enterprises get benefits from milk production and meet production. That is why a number of big investors are enlarging facilities for production.

Marat Akhmetov set the following task: “Tatarstan must take its niche on the Russian food market. A quarter of meat and 10 million tons of dairy products are imported. It means that we must conquer this market share”.

“We also have to seek for strategic investors both foreign and federal”, added the minister.
