On the 10th and 11th of July the 5th agro-industrial forum “Volga Region Field Day 2014” took place in Orenburg Region. More than 1,500 people from 14 districts of the region participated in the forum.
Tatarstan also took part in it. The delegation from the republic was headed by the first deputy minister of agriculture and food of the republic of Tatarstan Nikolai Titov.
The Russian Presidential Envoy in the Volga Region federal district Mikhail Babich visited the forum on its second day.
The forum had taken place in Penza Region, the Republic of Mary-El, the Republic of Udmurtia and Perm Territory before. For the first time the majority of heads of regional districts took part in “Volga Region Field Day 2014”.
The aim of the forum is to increase the attractiveness of the Volga Region for investing as well as exchange of innovative ways of development in agriculture and building mutually beneficial cooperation between AIC enterprises and agricultural machinery producers.
Within the framework of the forum an exhibition of the best samples of domestic and foreign equipment and machinery was organized.
This year display was the biggest one for the last several years. There were about 200 samples of equipment and machinery. Last year at the exhibition in Perm Territory there were about 100 units of machinery.
Each head of the region presented their achievements at the forum. Agricultural producers talked about important issues. Producers are concerned about the competition with import products, though the place of domestic products is getting better and better on the market.
After having visited the display at the exhibition, Mikhail Babich and the minister of agriculture of the Russian Federation Nikolai Fedorov held a session devoted to the issues of AIC development in the Volga Region. Heads of the majority of the Volga Region districts, representatives of development institutions in the sphere of agriculture and big agricultural producers participated in the session. The participants discussed the most important issues of modernization in agriculture, state support of agricultural producers, loans available for AIC, development of social infrastructure in rural settlements, staff staining for agriculture.
