Analysis of agriculture

Within the framework of the state program of agricultural development, the federal agricultural department carries out statistical analysis of the state of cattle breeding in Russia.

The data received for the 1st quarter of the current year, concerning the republic of Tatarstan, show that cattle breeding consists of beef cattle breeding, dairy cattle breeding, pig farming and poultry breeding. The republic takes the 2nd place in the country in cattle and poultry production for slaughter, the 1st place in milk production and the 13th place in eggs production.

Cattle and poultry production for slaughter made 100.9% in comparison with the level for the same period of 2013. Cattle production for slaughter reduced by 6.5%, sheep and goats production fell by 1.9% meanwhile pig production for slaughter rose by 7.4%, poultry production – by 3.5%.

Milk production for January-March of the current year decreased by 2.8% in comparison with the same period of 2013 and made 375.5 thousand tons. Milk production per cow in agricultural enterprises was 2037 kg by June 1 2014, which was by 151 kg or by 8% more in comparison with the level of the relevant period of 2013.

Eggs production for 3 months of 2014 made 234.6 million or 92% in comparison with the level for the same period of the last year. The average yield per bird in agricultural enterprises by June 1 of the current year increased by 4 eggs in comparison with the level for the period of the last year and amounted to 127.

By April 1 2014 livestock amounted to 1055 thousand animals or 94% in comparison with the level of the relevant period of 2013, including 374.9 thousand cows which made 93%. Pig stock amounted to 440.7 thousand animals or 77.1% in comparison with the relevant period of 2013, sheep and goat stock was 18.4 thousand or 101.5%, poultry population – 14198.8 thousand or 91.1%

According to the data of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, there are 116 enterprises in the Republic of Tatarstan registered in the state brood register.
