Development of rural territories

In the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation a meeting with representatives from the Russian Ministry of Transport and the Federal Road Agency was held. It was devoted to implementation of the actions to construct and reconstruct roads to important venues in the rural settlements as well as to the agricultural production and processing sites into the federal special-purpose program “Sustainable development of rural territories for 2014-2017 and for the period up to 2020”.

Dmitry Toropov, Chief of the Department of rural development and welfare, made a keynote speech.

Changes in the Regulations to allocate subsidies from the federal budget to the budgets of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation for the development of social infrastructure and engineering facilities as well as roads in rural settlements and construction of roads on rural territories were discussed.

In debating it was decided to agree on the formula to allocate subsidies for constituent entities of the Russian Federation taking into consideration the number of settlements without hard-top roads as well as gross regional product; to include into the Regulations the list of important social facilities in rural settlements to which there will be a public road and to include into the Regulations the federal budget
