Today on May 22 a republican seminar-session on beekeeping was held in Kazan.
The main report was presented by Rashit Safiullin, Director General of State-Financed Institution “Office of Beekeeping”. He reported about the perspectives of the development of beekeeping in the republic under the program “Beekeeping Development in the Republic of Tatarstan 2011-2020”.
According to his speech the republic has favourable natural and economic conditions for the development of beekeeping, it has a sufficient bee forage (natural and agricultural bee pasturage) and is among the regions with intensive development of beekeeping. Tatarstan takes the second place on the number of honey-bee colonies among the subjects of the Russian Federation.
Rashit Safiullin noted that for the last 5 years the number of bee yards has increased by 15%, production of honey for sale – by 49%, production of honey per a honey-bee colony – by 21%, the number of honey-bee colonies – by 31%.
SFI “Office of beekeeping” is promoting introduction of the latest technologies for complex use of honey-bee colonies. Except traditional production on bee yards of the republic such as bee and wax beekeeping in packages, breeding of queen bees, production of pollen, bee breed and bee-glue are really popular.
First Deputy Director General of SFI “Office of beekeeping”, Rinat Nabiullin, reported on the results of wintering, accelerated breeding of honey-bee colonies, introduction of innovative technologies. He also touched upon the issues of modern trends to introduce selective stock breeding in beekeeping.
Alexei Munkov, PhD in Biology, Assistant Professor in Biology and Ecology of KSAVM named after N.E.Bauman, told about prophylactics and treatment of bee diseases on bee yards with modern effective medicines.
Farit Valiullin, Deputy Director General of “Office of beekeeping”, summed up the results of work on beekeeping.
Also Rustam Gilyazov, a representative of the trading house “Pcheloprom”, made a speech.
Inspectors on beekeeping from Elabuga, Saby and Arsk municipal districts shared their work experience and opinion.
