Tatarstan delegation in China

The Tatarstan delegation headed by Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the republic, is on an official visit in People’s Republic of China. The first town to visit was Urumchi, the administrative center of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The Tatarstan delegation includes: Marat Akhmetov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan; Linar Yakupov, Director of the Investment-Driven Development Agency; Radik Gimatdinov, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan for the International Activities; Nail Maganov, Director General of OJSC “Tatneft”; Rustem Sulteev, Board Chairman of OJSC “TAIF”; Rafinat Yarullin, Director General of OJSC “Tatneftchiminvest-holding”; Shamil Ageev, Tatarstan CCI Chairman.

Yesterday, as part of the visit to Urumchi, there was a presentation on investment and economical potential of the republic. About 170 representatives of Chinese companies attended the presentation. Heads of leading Tatarstan enterprises as well as representatives of relevant ministries of the republic participated in it.

The presentation was started by the speech of Shi Dagan, Vice-President of the Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. He welcomed the members of the Tatarstan delegation and informed about the planned return visit of a business delegation of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region to Tatarstan. Shi Dagan wished every success to the Tatarstan delegation.

Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatartsan, expressed gratitude for the attention to the republic. “I hope that in the course of today’s meeting high street representatives will find new ways of cooperation and will start new projects of mutual benefit”, said Mr Minnikhanov.

Marat Akhmetov, Deputy Prime-Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, spoke about investment prospects in Tatarstan agriculture.

Mr Akhmetov noted that, having 2.4% of the country farmland, the republic produces almost twice more total agricultural products. For 2013 it amounted to about$ 5 billion. The minister also noted that the territories of the republic don’t get investments equally; there are some regions without any sufficient investments in agriculture.

Today, on April 16, the delegation is on a visit in Beijin.
