Today IV International Veterinary Congress has started its work. The organizing parties of the Congress are the Russian Veterinary Association involving the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Agriculture and Foodstuff of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Russian Poultry Association, national swine breeding associations and dairy producers, the National Meat Association, the Association of Veterinary Practitioners and the Russian Association of Veterinary Medicines and Supplement Feeds Producers.
The Congress was opened by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Minister of Agriculture and Foodstuff of the Republic of Tatarstan, Marat Akhmetov.
Mr Akhmetov noted that the Congress was getting more and more important these days due to a sharp need of cooperative work of many countries and specialists to prevent and stop various diseases among animals.
“I hope the Congress will strengthen ties between Russian and foreign veterinary science and medicine, open new areas of mutual cooperation, raise veterinary-sanitary safety of countries and biological safety of production of AIC”, - noted Marat Akhmetov.
Veterinarians of Baltasi, Alkeevsk and Sabynsk were awarded with letters of gratitude of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Director of the Veterinary Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, PhD in veterinary science, Svetlana Dresvyannikova reported on the most important issues concerning dairy cattle husbandry and beef cattle production.
The main issues under discussion during the Congress are aimed at the representatives of administrating authorities in the veterinary sphere, veterinary specialists of cattle-breeding and poultry enterprises, diagnostic laboratories, poultry technologists, veterinary practitioners working with small domestic animals, research professors, post-graduate students, students and others.
For the first time during the Congress there is a simultaneous work of different sections and the exposition devoted to all branches of cattle-breeding and poultry production with the main reports on topical issues on veterinary and technologies, ecological, biological and food safety, veterinary education. It enables to stick to the strategy “Single world – single health” which was developed by the International Epizootic Agency, the Foodstuff and Agriculture United Nations Organisation and the World Health Organisation.
During the Congress there will be panel discussions on the issues of food safety, veterinary education as well as lectures and seminars devoted to diagnostics, prevention and treatment of small domestic animals in the fields of roentgenology, veterinary management, veterinary dentology, etc.
