In the first three months of 2026, the volume of processed grain exports inspected by the Tatarstan branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "TsOK AIC" (Agricultural Complex Center) amounted to over 5,100 tons of sunflower meal. The top consuming countries for this feed ingredient this year were Azerbaijan, where 4,600 tons were shipped, and Turkmenistan (500 tons). Moreover, Azerbaijan increased its sunflower meal imports this year by 50% compared to the same period last year (3,100 tons).
Before shipment, specialists from the branch's testing laboratory checked product samples for compliance with contract specifications and the importing country's requirements.
In particular, the feed additive underwent entomological and herbological examinations in the branch's laboratory. In addition, it was tested for such parameters as color, odor, crude protein content, crude fiber, total energy value on a dry matter basis, hydrochloric acid-insoluble ash content, moisture content, foreign matter, toxic elements, pesticide residues, mycotoxins, radionuclides, GMOs, pest infestation, or traces of infestation.
The tests confirmed the product's full compliance with established requirements.
Laboratory tests confirmed the sunflower meal's compliance with established criteria. Specifically, the moisture content was 10.5%, crude fat on an absolute dry matter basis was 1.6%, crude fiber was 19.3%, and crude protein on an absolute dry matter basis was 1.5%. "39.4%," noted Polina Azarenko, Deputy Head of the Inspectorate of the Tatarstan Branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "TsOK AIC."
Reference:
Sunflower meal is a sunflower seed product that is a valuable source of protein, amino acids, and other nutrients, making it an important component of livestock feed. Introducing this high-fiber protein supplement into the diet of cattle, pigs, and poultry positively impacts digestion and metabolism, increasing productivity and helping to produce strong, healthy young animals.
A significant advantage of sunflower meal is the absence of harmful substances and its high digestibility. Sunflower meal contains 30% to 40% crude protein and a rich amino acid profile. It is in high demand in both domestic and international markets, contributing to the development of exports, a key indicator of the national project "International Cooperation and Export."
