Marat Zyabbarov attended a meeting between the Rais of Tatarstan and the President of Egypt

Rustam Minnikhanov, the Rais of Tatarstan, met with Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, Marat Zyabbarov, also participated in the meeting.

Welcoming the Rais of Tatarstan, the head of state noted his warm regard for Russian President Vladimir Putin and his sincere appreciation for the friendly relations with Tatarstan. He congratulated Rustam Minnikhanov on Kazan's designation as the cultural capital of the Islamic world in 2026 and expressed interest in cultural cooperation.

Furthermore, the President expressed his readiness to expand cooperation in industry, agriculture, education, and tourism. "We highly value the contribution you are making to the development of Russia's relations with the countries of the Islamic world," he told Rustam Minnikhanov.

In turn, the Rais of the Republic noted that Tatarstan places great importance on developing cooperation with Russia's partners in the Islamic world.

"Our republic is making a significant contribution to strengthening Russian-Egyptian ties. The volume of Tatarstan-Egyptian trade is clear evidence of this. Since 2020, it has grown more than 8.5 times, reaching $230 million last year," Rustam Minnikhanov noted.

Historically, a number of large industrial enterprises in the republic have worked with Egypt. However, there is strong interest in expanding the range of products, particularly in areas such as agro-industrial complex, automotive manufacturing, healthcare, IT, and so on. The Rais of the Republic also expressed readiness to share experience and developments in areas such as digitalization, technology parks, and special economic zones.

During his working trip to Egypt, the minister visited the Cairo branch of Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University, the tomb of Tatar philosopher and theologian Musa Bigiyev in the El-Qarafa necropolis in Cairo, and the Grand Egyptian Museum.

During the visit, Marat Zyabbarov also participated in a meeting between Rustam Minnikhanov and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelathi. The Egyptian Foreign Minister expressed hope for developing cooperation with Russia's regions and noted that companies from Tatarstan could actively take advantage of preferential treatment in specialized trade zones. Abdelathi congratulated Rustam Minnikhanov on Kazan's designation as the cultural capital of the Islamic world in 2026.

In the Egyptian Cabinet of Ministers, Rustam Minnikhanov met with Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly. Marat Zyabbarov was also present at the meeting. Rustam Minnikhanov spoke about the fruitful meeting he had with the President of Egypt, emphasizing that Russia has traditionally been a reliable partner for Egypt in the area of​​food security.

"Tatarstan, as one of Russia's most dynamically developing regions and a link in its contacts with the Islamic world, adds additional dynamism and practical content to our countries' relations. In this regard, I would like to note the significant growth in Tatarstan-Egyptian trade turnover, as well as the high potential for its further expansion," Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized. He briefly discussed Tatarstan's economic and industrial potential and the sectors that would be of interest to its Egyptian partner for cooperation. "Our republic is open to investment and innovation and is always ready to share its experience. We are actively developing partnership financing and the halal industry," he concluded.
