Rustam Minnikhanov at a meeting with a delegation from the Brest Region: There is every opportunity to further expand and deepen the partnership with Belarus
Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Tatarstan Council, met today with Pyotr Parkhomchik, Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee (Republic of Belarus). Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov also participated in the meeting.
As a reminder, the Brest Region delegation, led by Pyotr Parkhomchik, is in Tatarstan on a working visit.
We cooperate across a wide range of sectors, including petrochemicals, mechanical engineering, agro-industrial complex, and high technology, said Rustam Minnikhanov.
Tatarstan has also enjoyed long-standing successful cooperation with companies such as Belneftekhim, Minsk Tractor Plant, Gomselmash, Minsk Automobile Plant, and many others.
According to Rais of Tatarstan, the Minsk Tractor Plant (MTZ) occupies a special place, as it produces a significant portion of Tatarstan's agricultural machinery.
There are all the opportunities for further expanding and deepening the partnership with Belarus and its regions, he emphasized.
In turn, Petr Parkhomchik briefly spoke about the economy of the Brest Region.
"When visiting Belarus, everyone tries to visit our Brest Region," he said. "This is a unique region—beautiful, historical, and heroic. One of its important areas is agriculture. In particular, agricultural exports from the Brest Region amount to approximately $3 billion."
"The region is developing dynamically," said Petr Parkhomchik. "We are growing every year." He also reported that milk production in the region is rapidly growing, including average annual milk yields.
Pyotr Parkhomchik noted that the Brest Region delegation's visit to the Republic of Tatarstan has a very extensive agenda. The delegation includes leaders and representatives of key organizations and industrial enterprises in the Brest Region. According to the Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, it demonstrates interest and a willingness to cooperate.
During the visit, the Brest Region delegation and Marat Zyabbarov also visited the S.P. Gorbunov Kazan Aviation Plant and the Kazan Helicopter Plant.
